The Beachside Bistro

Nantucket’s largest outdoor restaurant is nestled in the dunes along the beach in Sconset, just below the bluff where the Summer House Cottages are. Tiered flower and herb gardens line the walkway to the restaurant’s bluestone patio overlooking the ocean. With a vast menu and many signature cocktails, the Beachside Bistro is a popular place for delicious lunches, happy hour drinks, and family dinners.

The menu includes everything from fresh seafood platters and oysters on the half shell to locally caught codfish, and fresh lobster served in a roll, in a salad, as a clambake, Fra Diavolo, and with squid linguini. There is an extensive children’s menu, and homemade gelato is available.

The Beachside Bistro is one of the few restaurants to offer all-day dining. At night the menu changes, piano music, and candlelight complement the tablecloth setting for a more elegant meal. The children’s menu continues to be available.

Generations of families enjoy the afternoon and early evening in this unique location. The area is particularly popular with bike riders as it is just a short distance from the end of the Sconset bike path.

The Summer House Restaurant

On a bluff overlooking the Atlantic, out of another time, out of another place, The Summer House Restaurant stands alone as the quintessence of romantic dining. Casually elegant and a true Nantucket landmark. The Summer House experience has been called a lot more fun than other Nantucket restaurants by New York Magazine whose cover it has graced.

Dinner each night is an event - subdued lighting, flickering candles, fresh flowers, and music played on the baby grand piano, combine to create an atmosphere of days gone by and the true romance that is Nantucket.

Before and after dinner, drinks are available at the lively piano bar where many join the award-winning pianist in festive sing-alongs seated by a wood-burning fireplace. Consistently highly rated, The Summer House is frequented by celebrities who mingle with the local crowds.

No Nantucket visit is complete without a visit to the “tres chic” dining room and piano bar of The Summer House which is “trendy, innovative and memorable.”

First dinner seating at 5 pm and last dinner seating at 10:30 pm.

Reservations Recommended.
